Was macht eine perfekte Frau aus? Die zwei sehr verschiedenen Protagonistinnen Neele Buchholz und Susanna Curtis sind Kandidatinnen einer grellen Gameshow, die die perfekte Frau küren möchte. Sie zeigen sich von ihren „besten“ Seiten – bis die skurrile Scheinwelt zusammenbricht. Sie stellen sich der Herausforderung zu erforschen, was Frausein wirklich bedeutet. Was hat sie zu den Frauen gemacht, die sie heute sind? Wie fühlt es sich an, eine Frau zu sein? Mal vorsichtig und fragil, mal bestimmt und zuversichtlich tasten sich Susanna und Neele an das Thema heran und ergründen sich selbst und gegenseitig. Wo liegen Gemeinsamkeiten, wo Unterschiede? Welchen Platz können sie in der heutigen Welt einnehmen?
Gemeinsam werden die beiden Akteurinnen diesen Fragen nachgehen und die Möglichkeiten freier Entfaltung und Entscheidung entdecken. Gezeigt wird das Frausein in allen Facetten, gespeist von sehr persönlichen Einblicken in die Gedankenwelt der Protagonistinnen. Erschaffen wird eine authentische und intime Bühnenwelt voll Solidarität, Partnerschaft und gegenseitiger Unterstützung.
Susanna Curtis (60), mehrfach preisgekrönte Choreografin, Tänzerin und Darstellerin ist künstlerische Leiterin sowohl von Curtis & Co. – dance affairs als auch EveryBody. Seit 2001 produziert sie Tanz- und Tanztheaterwerke in Nürnberg mit der Tafelhalle als Kooperationspartnerin. Ganz bewusst setzt sie sich mit dem Thema „Normkörper“ auf der Bühne auseinander, erforscht das Bewegungspotenzial von Körpern verschiedenen Alters, Herkunft, mit und ohne Behinderung, und fordert die Sehgewohnheiten ihres Publikums heraus.
Neele Buchholz (32) aus Bremen ist Tänzerin, Performerin, Schauspielerin und Inklusionspionierin und sie hat das Down-Syndrom. Ihre Karriere startete sie 2013 als Tänzerin und Anleiterin bei tanzbar_bremen Inzwischen arbeitet sie als freie Künstlerin, sowohl als Tänzerin (u.a. bei Magali Sander-Fett), als auch als Schauspielerin beim Film (Eldorado KaDeWe, Wunschkind), Theater (T4 Ophelias Garten) und als Fotomodel (Aktion Mensch, Zalando). In ihrem künstlerischen Wirken spielen die Themen Augenhöhe und emotionale Nähe eine zentrale Rolle; so auch in ihrer crossmedialen Dokumentation NEELEPOWER zu sehen. Sie ist Mitgründerin des Vereins Inklusive WG Bremen und lebt seit 2019 in einer inklusiven Wohngemeinschaft.

What makes the perfect woman? Neele Buchholz and Susanna Curtis are candidates in a crazy game show, whose goal is to find the perfect woman. They demonstrate all their best assets, the games get faster and quirkier, until suddenly the illusory world collapses. And so they are faced with the challenge of really discovering what it means to be a woman. What has formed them into the women they are today? How does it feel to be a woman? Susanna and Neele approach the task, question and discover themselves and each other. Sometimes they are brash and decisive, sometimes careful and uncertain. What common ground do they share? Where are there differences? What position do they take up in today’s world?
Together they try to find answers and discover the possibilities available for their own personal development and decision making. What it is to be a woman is shown in all its facets, based on the individual viewpoints and reflections of the protagonists. An authentic and intimate stage space is created, suffused with solidarity, partnership and mutual support.
Susanna Curtis (60), who has received several prizes for her work as choreographer, dancer and performer, is the Artistic Director of both Curtis & Co. – dance affairs as well as Everybody – inclusive dance. She has been producing dance and theatre works in Nuremberg since 2001 and since 2010 in co-operation with the Tafelhalle. She has worked as guest choreographer at many theatres, recently at Theatre Gießen and is at present involved in a three-year TANZLAND Co.-operation with the Theatre Solingen. She consciously researches into and questions the definition of “the normal body” and works with the movement potential of bodies of differing ages, backgrounds, with and without disability, thus challenging the viewing habits of her audience.
Neele Buchholz (32) comes from Bremen, is a dancer, performer, actress, inclusion pioneer for inclusion and has Down Syndrome. She started her career In 2013 with tanzbar_bremen and now works a freelance artist. She has appeared as an actress in films and series such as Eldorado KaDeWe (ARD) and Wunschkind and as a model for Zalando and Aktion Mensch. Central to her work are the themes of emotional intimacy and artistic encounter on an equal footing, which are highlighted in her transmedia documentary presentation NEELEPOWER. She co-founded the Inclusive shared-accommodation Association Bremen in 2019.
